This body of work is grounded in two conceptual and theoretical frameworks - Speculative Craft and The Hybrid Laboratory - drawing inspiration from posthuman and more-than-human philosophies.
These jewelry pieces ask a series of ”what-if”-questions, functioning as catalysts for the expansion of thought, encouraging the dream of the impossible becoming possible. What if our bodies could shed skin in the future to protect us from extreme heat or ice-cold temperatures? What if our bodies could code organisms in the future that would protect us from dangerous bacteria and viruses? What if our bodies could feed themselves in the future through an internal system if we run out of food and water?
Working primarily with metals and silicone, she merges traditional jewelry techniques like electroforming with contemporary technologies such as 3D printing - a methodology she calls Cyborg Craft.
